This started out as a completely different idea that flopped but I didn't feel like reworking the original idea yesterday and so this idea was born.
It was hard to photograph in early morning light and tacking it up isn't really the way to go but I wanted to get this up early! I really like it and my MIL whose style is predominantly white, lacy, cottagy with a large dose of old woman will probably love it.
Another puzzle piece craft. I love this little guy. He is adorable!!
I am seriously tempted to keep him.
These guys aren't my favorite but they are very, very tactile!! The girls loved the first two I made (the shorter ones) and requested some for themselves. So last night I made the two taller ones. K requested purple for hers and C really liked the guy with the hat. They are super duper easy - definitely a must if you have socks laying around!!

Snowmen, Lambs, and Lions
As you may know, we visited my in-laws for Christmas. Both of my husband's parents are collectors - they have a huge house and it is stuffed to capacity. My MIL likes to decorate, especially for Christmas. She is fond of snowmen and collects them. However, she likes button nose snowmen not carrot nose. Do you know that of the close to a hundred snowmen in her house only a handful have non-carrot noses?
I plan to remedy that for her birthday (in September) this year. Here are our first snowmen - these are made from craft sticks and wooden discs. WARNING: You will be seeing snowmen regularly and often this year.
K's is the one with a wreath. C's has a broom. Mine sports earmuffs.
Guess what!! It is another puzzle craft. The girls made these reversible lion and lamb hangings for March.

Puzzling Gift Boxes
These boxes are very large. They are pizza boxes from pizza kits (the kits are plastic wrapped so the boxes are very clean).
I was thrilled when I found a page layout in a coffee table map book that had a scene that matched this puzzle.
This puzzle was the inspiration for the series. I've been meaning to use this puzzle on a box for a very long time. The foundation papers are from a dictionary that I've been using forever and haven't made a dent in the number of pages left in it.
I found this adorable Golden Book Illustrated Dictionary that I thought would make great box paper. I thought this retro puzzle would be cute with it. Lo and behold - hoarder of the universe even has obnoxious orange lace and brilliant teal ribbon to set of the retroesque whimsy.

Puzzled
Honestly, I have no idea why I can't keep up with everything. Perhaps it is because I am in semi-hibernation from all the snow.
Perhaps it is because I spent a lot of time painting puzzle pieces white.
Perhaps it is because Hubs and the girls were sick for the first week in February.
Perhaps it is because I was sick for the second week in February.
Perhaps it is because I stay busy prepping crafts for the twelve children in my arts and crafts class.
Perhaps it is because I listen to twelve children read once a week.
Perhaps it is because I pretend I can draw and teach them a drawing class once a week?
I donno - I am definitely puzzled.
