a little something for a niece

I made the butterfly switch plate for my new niece. I made her big sister a beautiful one when she was a newborn so her Mom asked for one for her little girl. She asked for butterflies and said the room had yellows in it. So this is what I came up with.

I went through a stage of making lots of these. Here are some that are in our home.

Switch plates are super simple - basic painting skills and a little Mod Podge know-how is all you really need. But if you want further instructions there is a tutorial on How to Do Things.com

I am sharing this at:

  1. Oh, I don't remember seeing these before. Beautiful. Some of these (new ones) should definitely be in your Etsy shop.

  4. Love your lightswitches! You are very creative. I tried doing this with rub-on decals, they wore away! I since have BOUGHT some on ebay -- too bad I didn't see your instructions! Thanks for sharing!
