a little something for a niece

I made the butterfly switch plate for my new niece. I made her big sister a beautiful one when she was a newborn so her Mom asked for one for her little girl. She asked for butterflies and said the room had yellows in it. So this is what I came up with.

I went through a stage of making lots of these. Here are some that are in our home.

Switch plates are super simple - basic painting skills and a little Mod Podge know-how is all you really need. But if you want further instructions there is a tutorial on How to Do

I am sharing this at:

  1. Oh, I don't remember seeing these before. Beautiful. Some of these (new ones) should definitely be in your Etsy shop.

  2. I've been wanting to try to do this. Yours are just beautiful. Love the butterflies.

  3. Wow, you make light switches into art. I know your niece is going to love this. Great job!!!

  4. Love your lightswitches! You are very creative. I tried doing this with rub-on decals, they wore away! I since have BOUGHT some on ebay -- too bad I didn't see your instructions! Thanks for sharing!
    Best regards,
