on the lighter side

We took a walk today (okay, I walked and they biked). No really - I walked, and they biked and when Light got tired she walked and I drug her bike behind me with my right hand and held her sweaty little hand in my left hand.

These are the photos I took before my hands were occupied.

I've decided to change my children's aliases again. While Stinkerbell and DramaQueen fit them, it doesn't allow me to sound as loving and tender as I often feel about them. As a result, their aliases will reflect the meaning of their given names. My oldest formerly known as C or DramaQueen or DQ will now be called Grace and my youngest formerly known as K or Stinkerbell will now be called Light.

Yep those would be my children Grace and Light.

Sometimes they are Grace and Light and sometimes their job is to teach me about Grace and Light and they aren't so wonderful. But either way, their mine because God gave them for me to raise up to Him.

  2. I'm a little off on spiders today. A brown recluse bit me on my inner arm. I have been at war with them this week. I killed two in the cat's little box. A sneaky one fired off a bite, the target...my arm. Your photo of the garden spider is gorgeous though. Garden spiders are good spiders, they hurt no one, they eat bad bugs. They just look fearsome. Good analogies.

  6. People who have children are blessed beyound measure. Yours are beautiful and full of grace and light. Good names.

Kansasrose,,,brown recluse spiders are highly poisonous. You may need to have a doctor check out your arm. At least the ones here on the Gulf Coast are.

  9. Your girls' new names are so lovely. Good choice. :)

The pictures of them in their sunglasses are one last taste of Stinkerbell and DramaQueen. Too cute!

    Welcome, Grace and Light.

  11. Just wanted to check in..it was not a brown recluse thank heaven. I had it examined to be on the safe side... It must have been a huge mosquito, or maybe a flying fire ant. I felt it's bite whatever it was. The flying fire ants are NO common black picnic ant. ouch. Actually I am not sure what the insect was as I had just awoke in the morning, was half asleep when I tangled with the spiders in the cat box. I'm still keeping an eye on it, as I have never seen a welt this big from a mosquito bite. Thanks for your concern Eve.

  14. I love the name choices too. We're trying to come up with a good name for our puppy. One that describes a well behaved, loving, non-chewing, adorable sort of animal. In hopes that our saying it over and over againg may cause him to become it ;)

    Any ideas?
