books

I thought Stinkerbell looked awfully cute this morning sitting in a little chair browsing books.

I am doing something different this year. I am keeping track of books read.

So far this year, I've read eleven books for my own benefit/enjoyment.

I am also keeping track of what I read to the girls (the first time). So far this year, I've read 165 books to the girls at least once. I know for a fact that some of those books have been read at least five times this year and I would guess some of them are approaching ten reads. It is interesting to keep track.

I used to keep track of the how many books a day I read to DQ when she was a baby. I didn't bother with Stinkerbell, I was too busy. I will admit, however, that she did not get read to nearly as much. However, it doesn't seem to have had a negative impact on her love of books.

  1. I tried that. I made it two days and gave up. I can never discipline myself to write it down and I read to fast to do it a few days later. (I read about 5 books a day to the kids--though that has slowed down now that I read chapter books to the girls.) And I myself will read 2-3 per day--I use my library account and my amazon.com account to keep track.

  2. I think that is great that you are keeping track of the book reading. I am terrible at that, although I would love to know how many pages I read, etc etc.

It is wonderful to see how reading to your children allows them to learn to love reading too.

  3. I bought a rubber stamp kit that had a stamp of a library card. I wasn't sure what to do with it, but I think I will use it to record what I'm reading to my grandson.

    You are SO inspiring!

I love to read, though I don't really manage to keep track, lol I haven't been into 'Good Reads' for a week or two. The girls love books, Squidge tends to want to read the same books over and over and over and over...:)
