I thought Stinkerbell looked awfully cute this morning sitting in a little chair browsing books.

I am doing something different this year. I am keeping track of books read.

So far this year, I've read eleven books for my own benefit/enjoyment.

I am also keeping track of what I read to the girls (the first time). So far this year, I've read 165 books to the girls at least once. I know for a fact that some of those books have been read at least five times this year and I would guess some of them are approaching ten reads. It is interesting to keep track.

I used to keep track of the how many books a day I read to DQ when she was a baby. I didn't bother with Stinkerbell, I was too busy. I will admit, however, that she did not get read to nearly as much. However, it doesn't seem to have had a negative impact on her love of books.

  1. I tried that. I made it two days and gave up. I can never discipline myself to write it down and I read to fast to do it a few days later. (I read about 5 books a day to the kids--though that has slowed down now that I read chapter books to the girls.) And I myself will read 2-3 per day--I use my library account and my account to keep track.

  2. I think that is great that you are keeping track of the book reading. I am terrible at that, although I would love to know how many pages I read, etc etc.

It is wonderful to see how reading to your children allows them to learn to love reading too.

  3. I bought a rubber stamp kit that had a stamp of a library card. I wasn't sure what to do with it, but I think I will use it to record what I'm reading to my grandson.

    You are SO inspiring!

I love to read, though I don't really manage to keep track, lol I haven't been into 'Good Reads' for a week or two. The girls love books, Squidge tends to want to read the same books over and over and over and over...:)

  5. Our niece Jerzie love to read. Her favorite things are books right now she is 19 months and she sits and looks at the pictures and reads what she thinks it should say(LOL) Love the picture!!
