hanging and relaxing

Hello! Tim's Dad was visiting last week. The girls had a very, very busy week!! He took them bowling, skating, swimming, and to Chuck E. Cheese. They were exhausted (we still did school during the mornings).

Keith left on Monday and so now we can return to normal life. Yesterday, I made K a new pair of lounge pants (we are a family that wears what we call  "house clothes" at home - so that our public clothes stay nicer). Most of her house pants are full of holes and very ragged.

I made them capri length and baggy with the hope that they will be comfortable and a bit cooler (she likes to run about under-dressed).

These were another stash bust. I used (and modified) the pajama bottom pattern from the pattern that I made her night gown from. I didn't have wide elastic but I did have plenty of moderate width elastic so I sewed a pocket the width of the elastic and then added a draw string cord to the bottom half of the elastic casing.  Of course, you will recognize the fleece from the curtains as the same fleece I used for C's robe.

  1. Hi Melissa, the capri's you made are darling. I hang around the house in yoga pants from the thrift store. I also love what you did with the wooden hangers in the last post. xo, olive

  4. Cute! I have an extremely ugly and baggy pair of pull on jeans that I wear around the house. Occasionally I'll forget and end up wearing them somewhere...

  6. Great job! Who doesn't love something comfy to lounge especially in these frigid temps! She looks so happy in these shots, it sounds like you had a wonderful week with family.

  7. Capri length. That's a great idea. Your stash bustin' continues to encourage me! :)
