dogs
It has been several years since Willow died. As is typical of Tim and I, the process of getting a new dog has been time consuming. We knew that we didn't want another greyhound and were looking into a Bichon or Bichon mix.
The girls used to like to watch Dogs101 on AnimalPlanet. One episode featured Shiba Inus. C decided that was the type of dog we should get. Tim and I had considered them in the past when we got Willow but at the time they were rather uncommon.
After C's interest, Tim started looking and found Minnesota Shiba Inu Rescue. We've been keeping an eye on their postings since.
The long and short of it is that we are considering adopting a six-year-old bonded pair that were accepted from a puppy mill. The dog above is the female Yuuko and the dog below is the male Kei. Tonight a rep from MSIR will come check our family and house out. Then we will see.

How exciting for you and your family. We are also dog lovers and now have an almost 9 year old retriever (raised him since 9 weeks through four levels of obedience and agility). For us, the dog came first and then we had children, my girls don't know a home without a dog. Both Shibus look precious, I look forward to hearing more. Rescues are an excellent way to go. I hope the fit works well.
ReplyDeleteBless you all, they will have found a wonderful family.
ReplyDeleteYeah for giving a forever home to rescue dogs. While I'm a cat person, you are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAdding new dogs to a family is such an adventure. Best wishes that it all works together for good.
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Shiba Inus are such gorgeous creatures, and I've read they have spicy, fun, loyal personalities. So cool that you are thinking of two rescues! Hope it's the perfect match.
