The bird I embroidered has become the cover of a box (go figure - I never decorate boxes - sheees!!). On Sunday, I discovered that one of my dearest friends was going to turn seventy today, so I decided that I was going to give her my embroidered piece - I like giving boxes because the recipient can do so much with them.
So, here it is...
What a treasure! It turned out beautiful. The addition of the little "padlock" is so sweet. What a beautiful and special gift.

Wow, this is stunning. I read your pieces about Louisa May Alcott and found your blog and saw this piece. How do you construct a box?
