no craft just pictures from last weekend

Last weekend we went to the annual summer picnic for the company where my husband works. His boss holds it at his cabin which is about two hours north of where we are.

It was a rumbly, grumbly day with lots of threats and a few sprinkles until the end when the threats were fulfilled.

This is the big guy: hubby's boss. I think he is a fascinating man and a wonderful Christian. I love his heart for God.

When we first started going to the company picnics everyone was young and in their early twenties and alcholic beverages were the drink of chioce.

Now there are a million kids, and we are all watching our weight, and drinking water!!

Every year at the end of the party, there is a big give away. The company buys gifts for all the children and then there is a huge drawing held for all the vendor gifts that are given to the company over the year. This year it started pouring right before the drawing so we piled into the garage. We made it through three rounds of drawings (which means everyone got to pick three things from the pile).

When we left it was sprinkling but about the time we made it to the highway it started pouring. Soon it was hailing. We drove through very high winds and at one point stopped under an ATM drive through at a bank for shelter.

It cleared just as we got home - for a glorious sunset.

  1. Awesome pictures. How wonderful for your Hubby to have been blessed by a boss who is a believer.

  2. That is so cool. Shamus works for two different companies--neither anywhere near (12 and 9 hours away). He has never even met many of his coworkers. It would be so cool to be able to do something like this. And as usual the pictures are amazing. I love the faces you capture. Several of those would be incredible color watercolor paintings. If only I had time.
