making a button necklace like laura and mary

I cannot even begin to say how much I appreciate the words of Laura Ingalls Wilder and the wisdom her simple books bring to modern life. It started with the button lamp and now the necklace. I think we will go through her books and do all sorts of projects inspired by what she wrote.

I was bombarded with "Mom look at this button!" "Mom how many buttons do I have so far?" "1...2...3......Mom I have fifteen buttons." It kept K occupied for several hours.

It helps immensely that I love buttons and the vast variety of them. They are like snowflakes - small and while similar, no two are exactly the same.

"I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all." Laura Ingalls Wilder

I wrote a tutorial at Suite101.

  2. Oooo. Those are REALLY pretty!

What did you string them on?

I made one, once, and it fell apart in a most undignified manner at a very inconvenient time.
