grandma K's salt and pepper shakers repurpose

I remember I asked for these and I know I've had the idea for a very long time. It is an original idea but I don't know how I conceived it.

I was so glad I got two sets. I gave one of these to each of my three siblings and kept one for myself.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5: 13-16

I wrote a tutorial for Suite101.

  2. These are greaT! I love the look. You picked really pretty shakers, I don't think an opaque shaker would have the same effect, but you never know. I think I might try this, thanks for the tutorial!

  6. I have never seen such a thing. those are so novel. you know everyone will be making them now. very neat idea. You see candles put in so many things, this is the first I've seen with salt shakers. the little tags make it though.
