new dresses
One of the things we brought back from the little trip were these new dresses that Mom made for the girls. I particularly like Grace's because she picked the fabric. It has Japanese women on it although you probably can't tell in these photos. Mom made them the most adorable matching purses although they don't have them with them in these photos.
Every time my Mom makes the girls new dresses I think that the most recent dress is the best dress Mom has ever made the girls and then I think back and I realize - well there was this one and that one and so I realize I just mostly love the clothes my Mom makes for Grace and Light.

Lovely dresses - you are a talented family!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of my Mom at the sewing machine making her dress cause she could not afford to buy them at the store. She made some for us as well. Very nice work in the girls dresses.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful dresses. Being able to sew for children is a blessing. This brings back memories of dresses made for me when I was little. Mama was a spinner in a Cotton Mill and they gave her mill ends. There was always enough to make a dress for me or my sister and if not, she would combine two pieces. Beautiful gingham and calico dresses. : )
ReplyDeleteThey really are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gift of the heart...a grandmother sewing dresses for her grand-daughters. These dresses she made are classic and beautiful. Heirlooms. The little dresses my mother made for my daughters are very cherished. There's just something so special about that...
ReplyDeletePrecious! That third photos is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love the things my mother sews too, so special.
They both look lovely. Gorgeous dresses on gorgeous girls.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
you can tell that much love went into the making of the dresses...and they are even more special because Grace picked out the material for hers...
ReplyDeleteI know you mom loves to see the girls wear them...
I LOVE these photos. The dresses are wonderful. Both of my grandmothers are seamstresses and they made us so many beautiful things. Even though they weren't made for us, my mother brought home these dresses one day and they were matching. The photo that she treasures the most is one of my sister and me in the identical dresses standing under a tree at my grandmother's house in Argentina. My sister and I were always very different and even though we had the same dress on, our personalities shined through...your girls have such strong personalities too and they come through in these photos.
