Christmas Programs and Poetry Readings

Believe it or not, C is too old to participate in the church's children's Christmas Program. K, however, is still young enough. Last Sunday, afternoon the children presented The Mystery of the Manger. It was very nicely done.

K had a small recitation part for the program.

K and a few of her friends hamming it up for the camera.

Of course, I made my annual Nativity Video for the 3,4, and 5's Sunday School.

The day after program my good friend Penny Johnson presented a reading of her newest book of poems, While Bethlehem Sleeps. She released the Kindle version last year and now the traditionally bound book is available through Amazon.

The girls and I attended her reading with an attempt to dress suitably in a somewhat beat style.

I came as her official photographer. ;) The man with the clasped hands, in the photos above and below, is her husband and the fair-haired boy is her youngest son (He is the boy who has the crush on C. You might remember him Romeo to C's Juliet from their Poetry and Play performance).

Penny signs copies of her books.

I had intended to buy one at the reading but she presented me with a gift of a signed copy.

Above you can see four of the members of our Poetry and Play group reading from Penny's book of poetry.
