is this weird?

We've been using the same computer with an old CRT monitor for over nine years. We just got a flat screen monitor and last night hubs put in the new vid card which is a digital card to go with the monitor.

He hoped that the new monitor would be good for working on my photos. It literally made me nauseous. The resolution is so high I could see the pixel halos around everything as the depth of field dropped off. So I adjusted my screen settings so that it looks like my old monitor.

Here is what I was working on that almost made me cry because the monitor made it so ugly (flowers from my garden).

  1. Shamus' huge lcd monitor makes me nauseous because it is way too close to my face and I can't see the forest for the trees (or the image for the pixels.) I have mine further back with it set so I can see everything. It takes a while to adjust to but it is good for seeing the little details when you need to.

  6. You are pretty much speaking french to me when speaking about about pixel halos and so forth. I can not see what you are talking about, but I do understand frustration. Hope you get your monitor to work for you! BTW- your pictures are always gorgeous- probably gorgeous untouched!
