creativity (but not necessarily crafts)
I've been playing with the girls' hair. Above you see the first attempt at a sort of woven hairstyle on C. Below you see my effort at the same style today.
Yesterday was my first attempt at milkmaid braids on K. Below is my attempt from today.
The girls really like their hair done in these styles. K's is deceptively easy and takes surprisingly little time. C's isn't difficult but I find it harder to do it well and make it look nice. C's hair looks really dried out lately and both girls need haircuts!!

Love it. My daughter went through a phase where she wanted french braids...and a mother who could make them :-). Your photos are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSimply lovely Melissa. I have always enjoyed braids and these are so intricate. When I was a young nurse, with long hair, my friends would french braid my hair in nursing report every morning.
ReplyDeleteWow, those braids are beautiful. What fun to twine in lace and ribbons! I'll have to wait until Big Sister's hair grows out again.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. Have you seen all of the great hairstyles on Pinterest? Lisa~
ReplyDeleteThat is where I got them from - I joined Pinterest earlier this week. I am addicted!!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!! Your girls are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThey both look so pretty! My daughter always wanted a french braid when she was in middle school--I found it challenging but managed most of the time! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous...girls and braids. ☺
ReplyDeleteI love them!! You did an awesome job. Love the ribbons and lace woven in. Your daughters are beautiful ♥

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I have seen a few pins about these braids. I must investigate further. I love how you have incorporated lace/ribbon into the braid. These photos are treasures.
ReplyDeleteI used to french braid my daughter's hair. I would occasionally attempt a fishtail braid... ugh... that never worked right! Your girls are so cute! They look like sweet little fairies. :)
