I am afraid it is really hard to see but these tulips are glued onto some marbleized paper that the kids made. The tulips themselves are a symmetry project.
Snowman twenty is a vanity light bulb and a glass light shade spray painted white. Her scarf is tulle and her hat is silver poinsettias that I burned the edges of (it wasn't part of the plan but I do like the way it looks). I think I might make another one like her. I really like the way she turned out. Maybe red poinsettias on the one I make for myself.
I will be sharing at:
Very pretty Melissa. I love the crafts your girls do, they are so good!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. I recently did a dying project with my girls and I was looking for other ways to display the papers they made.

PS this might by TMI, I actually stumbled upon your blog from a comment that you made on another blog. I thought you were a different Melissa! When I saw you like the Proclaimers and Chieftains I had to drop by (I feel very blessed to have seen both bands at least twice!)
Oh this snowman/girl is your best yet!! She looks so chic! and that hat is brilliant! Do you think you could make a lifesize one?

ReplyDeleteThe snowlady is beautiful!
My mother made a few different snow-people some years ago. Here's a photo if you want to look at them for inspiration: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Ne-VnX_5MMie0pI1OGmJ6TpT9QwesokUntf5VcSPcDE?feat=directlink

ReplyDeleteThis is a snowman that I really like too. nlm
ReplyDeleteSnow-person #20 is quite the little lady. Gorgeous (and clever) use of a light bulb and shade. You knocked that one out of the park!
ReplyDeleteI really love that snowman! I'm going to scour my basement and look for a unused glass shade right now!
ReplyDeleteThe tulips are very pretty and I like that they are big. I hope you get some blooming soon:0

ReplyDeleteSo glad to make time to drop by, your little snow doll is beautiful! And your tuplips lovely.
ReplyDeleteNice to read all your news. Enjoy the break.

The tulips are so pretty. It looks like it's the folding technique where you only add paint to one side and fold the paper. I love how they turned out, and so easy for kids to make. I may just try that with my boys today, it's such a pretty day outside.
ReplyDeleteThe snow man looks a little harder to make but it sure is a beauty.
I especially love the tulips!
