French Mustard to Plus Size Dress Model

Have you ever noticed that squeeze bottles often have nice shapes?

Take for instances this French's Mustard bottle. Don't you love her plus-size curves? Why not transform her from a tacky yellow bottle to a fabulous French Dress Form!!

Supplies

1 mustard bottle or other curvy bottle
1 flat candy tin (mine was Willy Wonka's Fruit Candies).
1 empty thread spool
book paper
Scissors
Masking tape
Mod Podge
spray paint
hot glue
thread
buttons

Instructions

Cut the neck off the bottle.

Cover the hole with masking tape.

Tear up your book pages into enough small pieces to cover the mustard bottle.

Use Mod Podge to decoupage the entire bottle with book pages. Let it dry.

Glue the thread spool and can together. Spray paint them.

Wind thread around the spool again. Glue buttons around the base of the spool.

Glue your dress form to the top of the spool.

Simple, fun, and very cheap!!

By the way, this was my first project for Stashbusting September. Yes, I do really keep things like candy tins and thread spools hoping I can do something with them. The mustard just ran out. Of course I have tons of buttons and books for book pages, don't you?

  1. I don't know how you keep coming up with amazing ideas! I would have seen that empty sauce bottle and thrown it in the recycling bin! You are a true artist.

    Best wishes,
    Natasha.

  4. Love the transformation! I always thought that Picante sauce jars had nice curves too. I've been wanting to make a "dress" for the jars that I have, now seeing you make this is motivating me to make mine!

  6. Too cute! I need to try this! I've got the shape of a certain brand of powdered creamer. I just pull the detached arm of a felted sweater over it, set it on an old spool and call it 'me'.

  10. Awesome! How did you ever think of that?!

I so need to sign up for NetFlix! :) I loved Kitty and Levin together. I thought they were a great couple. Did you know that Tolstoy wrote Levin after himself, and that the struggles that Levin had are the same that he had in real life? I loved the book!

Hope your having a great week!

And thanks so much for your encouraging words this morning. You are a thoughtful friend and wonderful Mom. I'm heading over to check out the link you sent too. Hopefully, that will be just the key we need to unlock the Math block. Really and truly...thank you. Happy Thursday! :o)
