Here is what I am supposed to do:
Thank those who awarded me: Done!!
Share seven things about myself:
- I take my showers in the dark (and I shave my legs in the dark) for some reason, I find it much more relaxing to be in the dark with just a nightlight or a candle than bright light with shining chrome and my own fat body in view. And no, I don't cut myself shaving. I don't know the last time I cut myself shaving. It is amazing if you let yourself trust your sense of touch what you can do.
- I read a lot and the more I read the more of a lit snob I become. I must read fast because I read Anna Karenina in less than a week. Of course, I liked the book. I've been struggling through Bleak House by Dickens for months.
- The sound of coyotes howling freak me out.
- I very, very seldom have a hard time going to sleep. Sleep is easy for me and I need quite a bit to be functional and healthy (experiments in less sleep equal cranky me and usually a sinus infection).
- I love worshipping at my church. On Sundays while we sing I look around and I think of what I like (and yes don't like) about the people sitting in church with me. I think of the stories I know and the struggles that the faces reflect and I can't wait to get to heaven and see us all perfected and part of one body. It will be amazing to see what I think of as annoying be revealed as an asset when perfected in Christ and perhaps to discover what I think as a gift is not as profound as I thought. It is exciting to imagine singing before God with perfect voices, in perfect harmony in perfect joy.
- I might be a lit snob but not all the movies I love are masterpieces. I love the Pirates of the Carribean movies, I swoon over Daniel Day Lewis in The Last of the Mohicans, I love Edward Norton in The Illusionist and The Count of Monte Christo is wonderful escapism. Oh and I love Harry Potter. (on the record, I also love Anne of Green Gables, most of the Austen movies).
- Straight lines are almost impossible for me...I just can't seem to do it - even with levels, rulers, and cutting edges.

That is so sweet, and I love hearing more about you. Shower in the dark...all very interesting indeed:) Thanks for the award...I regretfully have to tell you I just stop receiving them yesterday:( I am sorry...I so appreciate the the thought though....they are awesome, I just can't keep up with posting them all on top of everything else...I hope you understand.
ReplyDeleteAnne of Green gables....aw yea!! That Gilbert Blythe. Whew. And, of course the Austen movies. And Daniel Day Lewis....he's just so hauntingly desperate and emotional. And, sexy. :-) I'm with you, lady!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the award. We have somethings in common- I like dark showers- although I do cut myself shaving a lot even with the lights on. I am not a movie snob at all. Straight lines are also impossible for me. Frustrating!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Merci beaucoup! Gracias! What an honor for you to include me on your list! I really appreciate and, you won't believe this, but I take my showers in the dark, too, with only the light from my water closet. Most of the time, anyway! It IS more relaxing and it protects my head from my oh so usual migraines, too. I knew we had some things in common! Thanks again and I'm happy to accept! ♥Laurie
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for the award Melissa, how very nice of you! As for showering in the dark - I don't think I could do that, I'd end up cutting myself real bad!! I share your straight line problem too!
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you so much. I'm really enjoying getting back into crafts this year. I love all your black and white pictures. What camera do you use and do you use a photoshop action, or do each picture one at a time?
ReplyDeleteMel, thanks so much you made my night:) I always enjoy your kind comments and am thankful that you felt compelled to recognize my little 'ol blog. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to mention that I love taking showers with just the nightlight too sometimes:)
ReplyDeleteYou deserve this award :)
ReplyDeleteLoved what you said about church. I think it is soothing to take a shower by candle light too.
You rock!
Gros bisous
Frenchy
Thanks so much Melissa!!
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa,
ReplyDeleteI'm feel so honored that you included me in your list. It is taking me quite some time to catch up and create a post, but I do want you to know that I appreciate your kindness!!
I think that your comment about coyotes is pretty funny. We have a pack that comes to our neighboring property. Sometimes when they really start howling in the middle of the night, it totally freaks me out. I wake up thinking that some horrible pack of creatures is surrounding my house and is about to take us down. It's totally creepy!! Then my foggy brain realizes it's just a coyote pack, but I'm sure glad that I'm not outside and that I remembered to lock up!!
