convert a book into a clock

My parents gave me this book in 1999 because I write poetry. But...I can't write in metrical rhymed verse to save my life. When I decided to do this project this seemed like the perfect book. It is about me and my interests, it is inscribed to me (in the back and upside down) and it has a good degree of aging.

After I made the hole in the cover for the clock face, I saved the cover fabric to use in the clock face. I am still trying to decide if I like the clock face or if I want to change it. I left the edges of the fabric frayed because I think I like it. (Do you sense indecisiveness by any chance?) It doesn't matter this is an easy project and easily changed.

I will post a tutorial at Suite101 later today.

  3. So cool, I love this clock! I love the unexpected in crafts/
decor/art. I am always happy to see your pretty eye staring at me from one of your comments. I've been reading some of your blog, quotes, etc. I truly appreciate your depth of thought and feeling. In such a shallow world, it means a lot to connect with someone like you - you seem to see through the small things to the bigger picture. So many people never get beyond the surface. Thanks for all of your comments, thoughts and ideas. God bless you! ♥Laurie from Scene of the Grime

  9. I have done this before, but love yours so much more--like how the clock is not in the center and how you used the clock ring. Thanks for linking up to the under $100 party!
