Zipper Roses

I have these two zipper roses thanks to a wonderful elderly woman from Bible Study. H is in her mid-nineties and gave me a box full of sewing notions recently. In it were zippers.

This was made from two 22" Talon zippers that were unopened and originally cost 65 cents. They had weird brown marks on them so after I made the rose, I 'antiqued' it with instant coffee.

This was made from two zippers that she apparently took out of some article of clothing as many of the basting stitches were still in them.

These roses are quite large - the white one is about 3.5 inches in diameter and the red one is four inches in diameter.

I have lots of zipper inspiration and tutorials for you.

  1. Wow, what a fantastic idea! You are so creative.

I love the gorgeous engagement photos too. The one where she is reaching out and he is kissing her hand is just beautiful.

Best wishes for a wonderful weekend,
    Natasha.
