I don't want to wish away the present

but I am ready for fall...I need my schedule to change to a quieter more restful mode. I know it is hard for the girls to be cooped up but I want shorter days. I've never liked the really long days of summer. Perhaps it is because I feel compelled to always be doing something when the sun is shining. Fall is my favorite season - I love the smells and the warm tones. Winter is the most restful season.

I know what you mean. Fall has always been my favourite season but even more so as I get older and am now in my own autumn.

  2. I love Fall. Summer is great to play outside a lot, but that gets old and I start wishing for Fall too.

  3. I love fall, too.

The smells, the colors, the cooler temps.

We've had 17 days of 90+, unusual for west Michigan. I haven't actually been outside much at all.

I did find a few orange maple leaves in the yard. I believe it's going to be one of those early 'turn brown and die' years for the stressed and thirsty trees around here.

  4. After all our hot weather, I'm about ready for fall too! Like you, I'm working on some new garden spaces, and I'm hoping to get a lot of the moving and planting done yet before winter. But I'm also hoping I have a lot more time in the kayak this year!
