natural beauty with a touch of fey

My father comes from a family with seven children. His youngest sister (above) is about ten years older than I. Her oldest child was just a week or two old when I got married and her youngest is probably 18 months older that Grace.

I find her children to be among the most beautiful and photogenic children I know. I think I will tell her I will be deeply disappointed if I cannot do the senior photos for her oldest.

new dresses

One of the things we brought back from the little trip were these new dresses that Mom made for the girls. I particularly like Grace's because she picked the fabric. It has Japanese women on it although you probably can't tell in these photos. Mom made them the most adorable matching purses although they don't have them with them in these photos.

Every time my Mom makes the girls new dresses I think that the most recent dress is the best dress Mom has ever made the girls and then I think back and I realize - well there was this one and that one and so I realize I just mostly love the clothes my Mom makes for Grace and Light.

early Sat morning

Saturday we took a little trip of which I have many photos which I love as the subjects of the photos are gorgeous (and they are not my children). However, before we left, the girls played dress-up.

Okay, so I mangled the lyrics. This is from yesterday. We had a hot chocolate break while it was raining. I love his dirty fingernails and the odd grip.

I am about half-way through the photos I took - I did all the 'fun' ones and now it is time to work up the more generic shots.

school picture day

I called a friend of mine this morning, one who home schools her kids asked how she felt about school picture day. She was game so that is what I did today.

I got to her house around ten. I shot outside for about half an hour and then it started to rain. It rained for a couple of hours and then I was able to shoot some more outside. However, I wasn't idle inside - we played with macros and fun stuff.

These are some photos where her children (and herself) aren't very recognizable so I feel safe posting them.

My mother-in-law is still here - she will be here until Monday. We've been busy with that and the next thing. Today is a rainy, stormy autumn day - the sort of weather I love. :)

Is it acceptable for me to think my children are exceptionally beautiful?

I'm tired. I want my own life and schedule back.

I want my hubby back - he is withdrawn and a bit surly.

Light had picture day yesterday. I am one of those Moms who buy matching things for her girls. Bad mommy.



Yesterday was insanely busy - today is slightly better. Things are well with my soul.
